Runners start in waves beginning at 7 AM
Augusta, Missouri – Mount Pleasant Estates

Packet Pick-Up starts at 6 AM in the Crush Lounge, Mount Pleasant Estates
General Race Description

This is a relay running event. In short, it is all about a team finish for you and three motivated friends and not about individual achievement or time. Together the four of you conquer the 62 miles. A majority of the race takes place on the Historic Katy Trail. That means it is flat and fast (just like another race you know), but we do throw in a curve ball or two so you should check out the relay legs rating system to assign each of the race legs appropriately.

Check out the 100K course map and relay leg descriptions (coming soon). Be prepared for a scenic and fun-filled time as you take a foot tour of Missouri’s finest wine country.

Just a heads up…rollerblades/inline skates, bikes, strollers/baby joggers, motorized vehicles and pets are prohibited during the race. The use of an iPod, mp3 player, CD player or other audio/video device is discouraged but allowed.
How A Relay Works

Runner A begins the race. All the other runners get into their vehicle and follow the team’s driving directions, which will be provided in the race packets, to the first exchange point. Runner A will approach the exchange point, he/she will hand off the relay belt to Runner B. Runner A then gets into the vehicle with the other runners, and everyone drives to the next exchange point. This process repeats for the entire 100K. After the last runner is dropped off, the team parks at Mount Pleasant Estates and meets up with their teammate to cross the finish line as a team. Teams celebrate their accomplishment with all the food, music, post-race stretching and the wine that Runners’ Village has to offer.
Aid Stations/Mile Markers

Your safety is our priority! There will be several aid stations along the course as well as cyclists monitoring the remote portions of the trail. Water, restrooms and minimal medical support will be available at all of the relay exchange points – approximately at miles 4.5, 8.5, 13, 18, 26, 31, 36, 43, 49, 53, 56 as well as the Start/Finish. A larger medical presence can be found at the Chambourcin Exchange Point (#3 & #9) as well as the Start/Finish. However, runners and teams are responsible for their own support beyond that. We recommend your team have a supply of water, energy drinks and nutrition in your car to sustain team members between race legs.
Weather Policy

Race officials may cancel, delay or change the event in case of extreme weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of the participants. In the event of cancellation, refunds will not be issued.

Each team will be given a wave start time. You will receive your wave number a week prior to the race. We will begin waves at 7:00 AM, so arrive in plenty of time and look for the signs near the start area with your assigned wave time.

We will be issuing a race bib. Make sure it is affixed to the front of your body and placed on the layer of apparel that will be worn throughout the race. Your team’s overall time is kept with a triathlon belt provided by ChronoTrack. Your team’s race results will be posted on Uncorked 100K the following day.

Walkers are welcome! The only requirement is the team maintains a 13:30 minute-per-mile pace. This requirement is in place so that everyone is off the course (especially the remote portions of the Katy Trail) by sundown.
Time Limit Rules

Runners will be required to be off of the Katy Trail no later than 8:30 PM. If it appears your team will not make the cutoff time, you may double up a leg. That is where two runners run side by side and then skip the next leg. If you cannot complete the race within the time limit or if you do not finish, you will be listed as “Did Not Finish,” or “DNF.” This list will be separate from the official results.
Age Minimum Requirement

The age minimum requirement is 14 years old for the relay race. Anyone under 14 years old, with documented running experience (ie: has a finish time for a half marathon), may be allowed to race in Uncorked 100K on a case-by-case basis. Permission must be granted by race officials. Email with questions.

What better way to celebrate your team’s victory than with a case of Missouri wine! Each of the top finishing teams in the following categories – male, female and coed will receive just that, 12 bottles of delicious Missouri wines, most of which were featured along the route. The second and third place teams in each category will receive four bottles of wine. All top finishers will receive a commemorative photo of their accomplishments in the Mount Pleasant Estates’ Wine Cellars.

Participants receive a short-sleeve technical-race shirt, a commemorative wine glass, a finisher’s medal, access to water and medical stations, post-race food and beverage, complementary glass of Mount Pleasant Estates’ wine (participants over 21 only), massage therapy provided by Mercy and hundreds of volunteers and spectators cheering the team members on.
