Tri Goddess Triathlon

The Tri Goddess Tri celebrates women of all abilities, inspiring them to reach new heights of health and set new fitness goals by training for and completing a triathlon. The first-ever all-women’s triathlon/duathlon in Michigan, Tri Goddess Tri is organized by women who know how to make your first (or hundredth!) triathlon tons of fun! The event is held just 12 miles west of Chelsea at Big Portage Lake in Waterloo Recreation Area, surrounding our participants in scenery as beautiful and inspiring as themselves.


Tri Goddess Tri Events

Tri Goddess Tri features four different events for our fabulous females:

Duathlon — 1.5-mile run, 10.7-mile bike ride, 3-mile run (part of which is a trail run with one steep downhill).

Aquabike — half-mile swim (32 lengths in a standard pool), 10.7-mile bike ride.

Mini-Sprint Triathlon — quarter-mile swim (16 lengths in a standard pool) swim, 10.7-mile bike ride, 1.5-mile run (part of which is a trail run with one steep downhill section). Ideal for women trying their first tri!

Sprint Triathlon — half-mile swim (32 lengths in a standard pool), 10.7-mile bike ride, three-mile run (part of which is a trail run with one steep downhill section).

Sprint Relay — team up with one or two friends to complete our Sprint Triathlon together!

Please note that our bike course is open (the roads are not closed off for the event). Police, sheriff, and support crews will be along the course at major intersections and all turns.

Awards
Triathlon: Finisher medals to all triathlon finishers. Special awards to first overall, first Masters (40 years and over), and top five finishers in each age division, plus a special award to all “First Timers over Fifty!"

Duathlon: Finisher medals to all duathlon finishers. Special awards to first overall, first Masters (40 yrs. and over), and top five finishers in each age division, plus a special award to all “First Timers over Fifty!"

Aquabike: Finisher medals to all aquabike finishers. Special awards to first overall, first Masters (40 yrs. and over), and top five finishers in each age division, plus a special award to all “First Timers over Fifty!"

Packet Pickup / Expo
Don’t Miss the Tri Goddess Expotique!

Packet pick-up is also pampering time for all of our tri goddesses! At our Tri Goddess Expotique, you can visit many of our Epic Races sponsors and supporters, sample some of their products, and learn more about their offerings. Expotique exhibitors include the American Lung Association, Applied Fitness Solutions, Detroit Metal Works, Muscle Milk, Fraser Bikes, PowerCycling, Probility PT, Swim Bike Mom, and Tri-Covery Massage. You can even learn about Epic Races’ Detroit Women’s Half, coming in September!!


Expo Schedule of Events:

3:00 PM — Goddess Expo and Packet Pick-Up open at the race site.

4:00 PM — Triathlon 101: Overview of the event and your opportunity to ask the Race Director ANYTHING

4:45 PM — Pep Talk from Swim Bike Mom followed by book signing

5:00 PM — Pasta Buffet Opens and Packet Pick up Closes

7:00 PM — Goddess Expo and Pasta Buffet Close

Tickets cost $15 each and should be purchased by Wednesday, June 10. Kids ages 12 and under eat for $10, while children ages 3 and under are free! Tickets are on sale here (please save your Paypal receipt; it’s your ticket!). Be sure to buy your tickets now so you don’t miss out on this amazing pre-race event!

Post-race athletes' breakfast and award ceremony.
