The AVIA Wildflower Triathlons Festival is the largest Triathlon Festival in the world with over 7,500 athletes every year. Nicknamed “the Woodstock of Triathlon”, the four day festival includes camping, food, entertainment, and one of the largest sports and fitness expos in the industry. Don’t miss out on this one of a kind event!
Event Start Location Lake San Antonio, CA
Course Description The AVIA Wildflower Long Course Triathlon is one of the premier triathlons nationally and internationally. The 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run is one of the most challenging courses anywhere. Beach Hill, Nasty Grade, Polar Heart Rate Hill and the back country trail run will test the skills of the elite, age group triathlete and the first time long course competitor.
The AVIA Wildflower Olympic Distance Triathlon is an amateur age group and relay team event. This world-class course includes a 1.5K open water swim, a 40K (extremely hilly bike course) and a brutal 10K run course. The race will include the Wildflower collegiate championships. The best college triathletes from around the country will be competing for Wildflower collegiate, individual and school honors. It is a great race for both beginners and accomplished competitors. The Olympic Distance race will also be part of the Triathlon Club Team Competition* event.
The Mountain Bike Triathlon is an exciting sprint distance event for novice and beginner triathletes with a .25 mile swim, a 9.7 mile bicycle course (mountain bikes only) and a short 2 mile run. Age groups begin at 8 & Under and continue to 70+. Although there is fierce competition for the overall Mountain Bike Triathlon champion, most competitors will be first or second time triathletes. This is the place to get started in the sport of triathlon!
Awards Special AVIA Wildflower Triathlons plaques will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in each division. Fourth and fifth place finishers in each division receive specially designed medals. Finisher medals will also be awarded to all Triathlon finishers. Awards will be presented on the main stage in the Festival Area Saturday afternoon (Mountain Bike and Long Course) and Sunday afternoon (Olympic Distance Event). Awards not received at the ceremonies will be mailed 3-4 weeks after the event.
*USAT rules for "Age Group Division" - All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete's age on December 31 of the year of the event.
