Test yourself over sand, trails, water and more than 25 obstacles on the Barber Beast on the Bay 10 Mile Obstacle Course! Known as the biggest obstacle course in Erie, PA, this extreme obstacle course adventure challenge is held on the shores of Lake Erie at scenic Presque Isle State Park. You'll be climbing, crawling, pushing and pulling your way from the start line on Beach 11 of Presque Isle to the finish line at Waldameer Park and Water World. We will provide hydration and nutrition stations along the course to keep you energized and cheer you on! An “Elite” wave is offered for serious competitors who want to be timed, do the whole course and every obstacle to be eligible for awards. Optional timing for all participants is available. Want to participate in the Barber Beast on the Bay in a more leisurely way? You can choose to walk the course and opt out of any or all obstacles to be part of the fun and enjoy a day at Presque Isle in Erie, PA!



Event Start Location
You may check in and register at Waldameer and Waterworld. The Beast on the Bay mainly takes place at the beaches of Presque Isle State Park.

Awards
An awards ceremony will take place after the Elite Wave and top fundraising participants have crossed the finish line. There will be a first place winner for the men and a first place winner for the women, both of whom will receive free registration for next year's race; additional prizes to be announced. For Beast Fundraisers, we will award the first, second and third place winners; prizes to be announced. There will be a first place prize for both the Mens and Womens divisions. Each first place winner will receive a free 2018 Barber Beast on the Bay Registration, an original framed piece of artwork created by clients of the Barber National Institute, and a prize package.

Packet Pickup / Expo
Packet pick up will be available at the Barber National Institute in the week leading up to the event; we will notify participants of the dates and times during the summer. In addition, you can pick up your packet the morning of the event beginning at 6:30 a.m. at the registration table at Waldameer.

In addition, participants can pick up their packets at the event on Saturday, September 9 at Waldameer Picnic Groves beginning at 6:30 a.m. Please bring photo identification with you to packet pick up. If you are picking up packets for anyone else, you must have a copy of their photo ID and a signed copy of the waiver.

Participants who registered to be timed will receive a timing chip in their packet. Please bring this chip with you to the event and securely tie it to your shoe. Lost or forgotten chips cannot be replaced on event day. Our new chips are rugged so they can handle the rough conditions. Volunteers will be at the finish to collect chips. Please make sure to return your chip after finishing.

Registrations will be accepted at Packet Pick-Up with cash or credit card and photo ID.

Post Race Activities
We invite all participants and their friends and families, volunteers and spectators to celebrate in a day-long party near the finish line in the Waldameer parking lot. As always, there will be music, food vendors, and a free beer for all participants!

Parking
Parking is FREE. Participants are encouraged to park in the lot located at Waldameer and Water World, 220 Peninsula Drive. This is the location of Registration Check In, Bag Drop, and the Finish Line. Parking is also available across Peninsula Drive in the Waldameer overflow lot and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
