Big BAZ the RD wants all runners to have a magic experience in the mountains away from the hot streets. Bring the whole family, always lots to do and see in the area and don't forget Yosemite National Park. BAZ looks forward to seeing you all, especially the first timers. The STRS is already 2 years old and the sport is growing fast, don’t miss out this year. Each trail/old-truck road course will be well marked with green and white striped ribbon and white arrows. Weather is always magic in June /July, but come prepared for all seasons. Please leave pets at home. Where necessary aid stations will supply water, but make sure you carry a supply. Bib numbers must be worn on front and must be seen at finish line.
Fresh local fruit and goodies will be supplied for runners at the finish line, bring a chair and enjoy the Awards and Raffle after the race. You could get lucky and win something special from Big Baz! Entry fee includes one series T-Shirt, finish all 3 races you receive a special end of series sweat shirt.
BAZ will also supply trail maps to those wanting to check out the courses, maybe visit the Oakhurst area for training runs. Check with Sierra Running Co. for the latest updates including directions to races. Sierra Running Co in Fresno will be our major sponsor as they have been for 2 years. This race course has been changed to the snow play area in Fish Camp. More information to follow.
Awards
First 3 male and female overall and age groups depending on number of entries.
Weather
The weather is usually clear blue sky and temperatures around 60 to 70 degrees. Always magic for running, but come prepared for all possible conditions because the races will go on regardless.
Parking
Parking is plentiful in the mountains, come early if entering on race day, don't miss the trail briefing.
