Supporting the Stephen J. Wampler Foundation, providing great wilderness camps for children with disabilities. Celebrate your ability to run by changing the life of a child who can't. See the video for this great endeavor at www.wamplerfoundation.org The 1K walk and wheel is FREE for disabled children...send your t-shirt size and name to rmf44@msn.com, no need to register, just let us know you'll be there! The 2K, 5K, and 10K are only $25 for registration before December 20, 2009. Who was Zach? Zachary Barnes was a really cool 6-year old with cerebral palsy. He died December 31, 2000 and this walk/wheel/run is in memory of his wonderful smile and love of life. Get a great "I did the Zach Trak!" t-shirt and make a difference in a child's life! Your $25 and any additional donations are sent from Race360 directly to the Wampler Foundation.

Course Description
1k, 2k, 5K and 10K continue up First Street right by Zach's favorite school, Zia Therapy. Further up the road is the Scenic extension providing a clear view of the Sacramento mountains and a wide berth for runners. The 10K continues on, making a loop through the desert. When you reach the Desert Foothills Park you'll travel on a comfortable asphalt path surrounded by desert wildlife and natural flora. The hills and valleys of the park provide an everchanging grade for an interesting run. Loop back through the desert and it's all downhill to the finish line again in perfect running weather (55 degrees is the average January high) You'll have a great view of the White Sands National Monument in the distance (take a drive over that day!) Come try it out because next year this event will include a 1/2 marathon!
Awards
Prizes for overall male and female winners and top three finishers in age categories.

Packet Pickup and late registration at AlamoShape on Friday, January 1, 12pm-4pm and Saturday at 8 am.
Post Race Activities
Enjoy live music by acoustic guitar/violinist/soloist Daniel Parks, renowned for clear melodies, a real crowd pleaser and other great tunes provided by Desert DJs! Enjoy the famous Stella Vita chicken salad, Chloe Wraps, and Tomato Basil soup after the race! Over $1000 in race prizes, and an additional $1000 in door prize giveaways, including massages, hair care, tanning, and free dinners! The weather in Alamogordo is mild, with the average high 55 degrees and sunny in January.
