The Tioga Pass Run is dedicated to the memory of Ferdinand Castillo, who is part of the history of the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. He cheered on the Tioga Pass Run finishers for the first 13 years of the Run, and is with us in our memories, reminding us to tread carefully on the delicate alpine environment of Tioga Pass.

Join the camaraderie of the Tioga Pass Run: 3,200 feet of elevation gain over a 12.4-mile course along the shoulder of one of the most scenic highways in the country! The Run starts in downtown Lee Vining at an elevation of 6,781 feet and finishes at the Tioga Pass entrance station to Yosemite at an elevation of 9,945 feet. Car shuttles will be available to transport gear bags to the finish line during the Run and to provide participants with transportation back to Lee Vining after the Run. There will be aid stations at miles 3, 6, 9, and at the finish. A picnic, raffle, and award ceremony will be held at the Woah Nellie Deli (Mobil gas station) after all runners have completed the race. Your registration price includes a voucher for free fish or veggie tacos at the Whoa! Nellie Deli at the post-race picnic. Register before August 1st to receive a free T-shirt with your registration!

Proceeds from the Run will benefit the Mono Lake Committee, a non-profit citizen's group dedicated to protecting and restoring the Mono Basin ecosystem, educating the public about Mono Lake and the impacts on the environment of excessive water use, and promoting cooperative solutions that protect Mono Lake and meet real water needs without transferring environmental problems to other areas.

This run allows you to truly enjoy the beauty of Tioga Pass. Located on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Tioga Pass is the eastern gateway to Yosemite National Park. The Tioga Pass Run is the longest continuously occurring race in the eastern sierra (since 1980), a favorite with local ultra runners and triatheletes.

Please note: the Tioga Pass Run has a NO refund policy.

How to Avoid The Porta Potty During a Race

We've all seen it and most of us have done it ... 30 minutes (or less) into a race athletes are already looking for a port potty. The good news is that it doesn't have to be that way. The secret is a proper hydration plan before the gun goes off, and here's how you do it.

Reviews
Average Rating:
Recent Review: I moved to Mammoth in 1984. Ran Cross country at University of Miami (Florida). I NEVER quit/stopped a race. At mile 7 of TPR, it was snowing and and I could not continue...It was the first time I did't finish a race. In 2003, I ran again, and eventually became the the race director. My 4-year-old daughter (who is now a sophmore at Michigan State) helped set the mile markers at 4 am...many memories of TPR.
