HOA is one of the oldest and toughest courses in America. It began on Labor Day in 1960 with five runners, two of whom completed the course. Running guru Hal Higdon calls it a "down-home country course," and he lists Easley Hill as one fo the 10 toughest climbs in the nation. Jay Nixon, current Governor of the State of Missouri, completed his first HOA in 1978. Forty-seven of the 50 states have been represented by at least one HOA finisher.

Course Description
The course is USAT&F certified — # MO0767 BG.

Start on Stadium Blvd(740) at Hearnes Center, west to Providence(163). Providence turns into Rt-K at Rock Bridge Park turn off. South on Rt-K to Old Plank Rd. Left on Old Plank Rd. to Smith Feed Mills Rt., to River Rd./MKT trail, to Easley. At Easley, take left on Rt-N, to Pierpont. Left on 163, through Rock Bridge Elementary to Providence. Right on Providence, back to Stadium Blvd. Right on Stadium to College Ave.(763). Left on College to Broadway. Left on Broadway to 7th St.(Finish)

Awards
Framed posters to overall male and female winners. Running shoes (from Tryathletics) to overall winners and first age 40+, male and female. Medals to all finishers. Plaques to first three male and female: 24 & under, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+.
Dave Schulte Award for the most improved 2011 HOA performance of a sub-five-hour 2010 HOA finisher. T-shirts to all entrants.

Packet Pickup / Expo
Packet pick up time will be 2 pm to 7 pm, Sunday, September 1 in the lobby of the Hampton Inn or 5 am to 5:30 am race day.

Awards will be presented at a post-race gathering at
