Saddleback Mountain Trail Marathon has been going almost 20 years on and off now and it is billed as the Toughest Marathon in California. Although we agree there may be more difficult courses, this one is a pretty tough course and you should be prepared.
Event Start Location
8:00 AM. Time limit 7 hours.
Blue Jay Campground off Ortega Hwy (74) about 21 miles inland from San Juan Capistrano (I5) Orange County.
Course Description
Tough. Rated the toughest trail marathon in California. Follow yellow ribbons and white arrows on truck roads and single-trail. Total elevation gains are 5,100 feet. Starts at 3,300 ft. Be ready!
Awards
Overall winners, men/women and age groups. Plus Baz’s MAGIC raffle.
Weather
Always magic for running, but come prepared.
Parking
Please park in designated areas only in Lower Blue Jay. Must show a day-use pass from Forest Service. (Only $5) Parking on right side only on blacktop, no double-parking please. We are limited to 150 vehicles. Trail briefing before the start with any late changes, come early. Bring a chair, food and drink will be available for all entrants at the finish line.
Please leave your pets at home.

 Knee Pain - Chondromalacia - Irritation Under The Kneecap
Chondromalacia is a term used to describe damage or softening of the articular cartilage on the underside of the kneecap. It is similar to patellofemoral pain syndrome (runner's knee), which refers to pain under and around the knee cap.
